23rd International Exhibition for Equipment for the Textile and Garment Industry

The INLEGMASH exhibition grew noticeably and showed record results in terms of the number of exhibitors, floor space and number of visitors.

The exhibition was held as part of the largest in Russia congress and exhibition event in the sphere of textile and garment industry – Russian Week of Textile Industry 2024.

The Week was traditionally very busy and in addition to the INLEGMASH 2024 exhibition included the INLEGMASH International Industry Conference, the Interfabric 2024. Spring International Exhibition for Fabrics and Textile Materials, the Textile & Home 2024. Spring International Exhibition of Home Textile and Interior Solutions and specialised exhibition and forum on technical textiles.

“The exhibition has almost doubled in size, and the geography of participants has also changed. Many European companies have left the market, but this has not had any negative consequences. Manufacturers from Asia are now playing a key role in the market influencing new trends and standards. A significant part of the participants are companies from India, China and Turkiye, accounting for more than 30% of the total number.”

Conference Programme 

The opening of Russian Week of Textile Industry was at the plenary session on the Textile and Garment Industry: How the Industry Will Develop up to 2035.

The organisers, exhibitors and participants of the Week 2024 were welcomed by the following speakers: Dina Oyun, member of the Federation Council Committee on Budget and Financial Markets, Vladimir Plyakin, member of the Russian State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade, Vladimir Padalko, Vice-President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alexander Murychev, Vice-President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Maxim Fateev, Acting Director General at EXPOCENTRE AO, Andrey Razbrodin, President at the Russian Union of Textile Industry Enterprises, Tatyana Lugina, Chair at the Bellegprom concern and Vadim Ganin, Director General at the CIS Business Centre for Economic Development Association.

Dina Oyun noted that the Upper House of the Russian Parliament takes the topic of textile and garment industry development very seriously and notes the effectiveness of Russian Week of Textile Industry largely due to the professional association and shaping of professional tasks.

Vladimir Padalko noted the importance of discussing the new Industry Development Strategy until 2035, calling it one of the key topics of the entire conference programme. According to the Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, it is nice to see a large number of participants: more than 1,000 companies from different parts of Russia and foreign countries, and a large number of foreign visitors. More than 50 different thematic events will be held during the week, where many issues will be discussed.

“We are happy that every year the number of participants at the exhibition grows, and the net area also grows. It is important that this season we have a rich conference programme, where everyone will be able to share experience, learn about new technologies, teach beginners, and see how to work with human resources: representatives of educational institutions are also present on the site.”

The participants in the plenary session discussed the issues of improvement and development of industrial production of chemical fibres: creation of raw material base, determining the further vector of development of the market of technical textile production; creation of sustainable raw material balance; identified the possibilities of inter-sectoral and international cooperation.

The work of the INLEGMASH International Industry Conference was opened by an expert session on Investments in the Textile and Garment Industry: Attractive Segments and Growth Opportunities. The issues for discussion were the attractiveness of investments in the textile business; manufacturers of ready-made products are drivers of the industry; development of the textile and garment industry in the regions.

The workshop on Optimal Solutions for Confirming the Safety of Textile Products: New Opportunities for Your Business attracted a multidisciplinary audience.        

The workshop on Labelling of Advertising: How to Advertise Goods and Services without Violating the Law on Advertising concluded the first day of the INLEGMASH conference.

The SEWING TERRITORY Interactive Space organised by EXPOCENTRE AO worked for the first time at the INLEGMASH exhibition.

Everyone took part in thematic master classes and a business game, listened to experts’ speeches, studied new sewing equipment and saw it in action.

The programme of the SEWING TERRITORY included lectures in question-and-answer format devoted to measures of state support for the industry, useful business tips and establishing communication with clients. Master classes introduced the audience to the technologies of sportswear sewing with the help of modern equipment. A useful Sewing Way Business Game offered the management ready-made effective solutions to be implemented at the production site in the shortest possible time.

In the following days, visitors took part in the master class on Technological Equipment for Increasing the Speed and Quality of Tailoring, listened to lectures on the introduction of AI in the garment industry, learned how to promote their clothing brand and find regular customers, got life hacks and techniques for working on the equipment to increase the productivity of sewing work clothes and much more.

At the INLEGMASH 2024 exhibition, a series of events dedicated to digital textile printing took place: panel on Digital Printing and Textile Decoration, conference on Digital Printing as the Most Optimal Way to Manufacture Textile Products and the workshop on Digital Cutting Solutions for Textiles and Nonwovens.

The INLEGMASH International Industry Conference was continued by the workshop on Transformation of the Leasing Market under the Conditions of Economic Sovereignty Policy. The speakers drew the attention of the audience to the import dependence of the economy on means of production, options for realising a deal with a supplier from an unfriendly country, scenarios of leasing transactions involving foreign suppliers, preferential leasing with state support for textile and garment enterprises.

EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of the Souzlegprom Association held a panel on Cooperation with Equipment Manufacturers from Friendly Countries.

Oksana Shashkova, CEO at NL-Agency, Vice President at ATR, and Pavel Sirotkin, Deputy Head at JUKI’s Russian office, presented for discussion the issues on the production of equipment for the textile and garment industry in Russia for 2017-2023, imports of textile and garment industry equipment for 2021-2023.

An expert session was devoted to the equipment for the production of technical textiles. The workshop participants discussed production management automation, methods of measuring outcomes, trends and priorities in real time.

The attention of the professional audience was drawn to the conference on Artificial Intelligence for the Textile and Garment Industry: from Production to Promotion and Sales organised by EXPOCENTRE AO in cooperation with LegPromMedia OOO.

The moderators of the panel on Cross-Cutting Technologies and Artificial Intelligence were Oleg Kascheev, Advisor to the Rector, the Kosygin State University of Russia, and Elena Ryzhkova, Head of the Department of Automation and Industrial Electronics, the Kosygin State University of Russia.

The reports were made by Dmitry Shvetsov, Director General at ProSoft, Sergey Bagautdinov, Deputy Head of the System Development Department at Jet, Pavel Frasyn, Lecturer of the Department of Automation and Industrial Electronics at the Kosygin State University of Russia and other speakers.

Their presentations included the interesting fact that artificial intelligence as such does not exist: there are generative programmes capable of learning and systematising information. They presented the Node-RED tool, which with the help of prototyping is able to develop various systems for a wide range of applications: from textile and garment equipment to smart homes, as well as methods of developing and using digital twins and their role in improving the efficiency of production processes.

The conference also featured the expert session on The Future: AI for the Textile and Garment Industry Development and the technological session on Green Technology in the Russian Textile and Garment Industry.

The INLEGMASH conference was rounded off by the 5th Russian workshop and meeting on the issues of sectoral education: Transition of Vocational Training for the Textile Industry to a New System. The event was organised by EXPOCENTRE AO, LegPromMedia OOO and the Kosygin State University of Russia.

The participants discussed the prospects for the development of the education system, new challenges for the sectoral education, familiarised themselves with Industry 5.0 and Society 5.0, which give birth to amazing professional staff of the textile and garment industry of the future. They also talked about the role of scientific schools in training highly qualified personnel for the textile industry, the interaction between higher education and production, the problems of training personnel for the finishing industry, the current needs in personnel and the problems of textile and garment enterprises.

One of the important events of Russian Week of Textile Industry 2024 was the Forum on Technical Textile: Technology, Equipment, Raw and Other Materials, which addressed the most important issues for the implementation of import substitution tasks. It was organised by EXPOCENTRE AO, LegPromMedia OOO and Souzlegprom.

The forum included a discussion session on the Development Prospects of Production of Chemical Fibres and Yarns, Inter-sectoral and International Cooperation.

The session was attended by Andrey Razbrodin, President at the Russian Union of Textile Industry Enterprises, Vera Khmyrova, Director of the Department of Light Industry and Forestry Complex at the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Tatyana Lugina, Chair at the Bellegprom concern, Andrey Paevsky, Director for Attracting Investments at Agency for Attracting Investments in the Ivanovo Region ANO, CEOs of companies, institutes, project managers.

The speakers discussed the issues related to the raw material supply of polyester fibres and yarns production and inter-country cooperation in the development of their production; prospects for the creation of chemical fibres and yarns production in the regions; state support measures for the production of chemical fibres and yarns and their raw material supply. They also discussed the development and introduction of unique types of polyamide textile and technical yarns and the problem of their development in the domestic market. The experts touched upon the problems of training chemical engineers and technologists, and the prospects of development of the domestic market of synthetic fibres and yarns.

The forum events included the 5th International Symposium with the Russian Academy of Engineering on Technical Textiles of Russia: Scientific and Production Achievements and Opportunities, panel on Modern Nonwovens and Development of Their Production, presentation and discussion block: Technical Textiles at the Crossroads of Industries.

The conference and exhibition programme of Russian Week of Textile Industry 2024 introduced innovative developments of top companies, demonstrated to professionals the industry potential, provided participants and visitors with a wide range of opportunities for business meetings, networking and contracting.
