On the use of artificial intelligence in the textile and garment industry
The conference on Artificial Intelligence for the Textile and Garment Industry: From Production to Promotion and Sales organised by EXPOCENTRE AO in cooperation with LegPromMedia OOO is taking place as part of Russian Week of Textile Industry.
The first event, the panel on Cross-cutting Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, was moderated by Oleg Kascheev, Advisor to the Rector of Kosygin Russian State University, and Elena Ryzhkova, Head of the Department of Automation and Industrial Electronics of Kosygin Russian State University.
Dmitry Shvetsov, Director General at PROSOFT, noted in his speech an interesting paradox that artificial intelligence as such does not exist: there are generative programs capable of learning and systematising information, but these programs cannot be called intelligence in the usual sense.
Pavel Frasyn, a lecturer at the Department of Automation and Industrial Electronics of Kosygin Russian State University, agreed with this statement. He spoke about the Node-RED tool, which, with the help of prototyping, is capable of developing various systems for a wide range of applications: from textile industry equipment to smart homes.
Sergey Bagautdinov, Deputy Head of the System Development Department at JET, described the methods of development and use of digital twins (creation of virtual copies of real objects for data analysis) and their role in improving the efficiency of production processes.
The panel was followed by an expert session on the Future: AI for the Textile and Garment Industry Development. The experts discussed the effectiveness of new solutions in the field of digital transformation, analysing examples of their successful implementation, considered the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies at the enterprise and answered the question of how AI can help interior designers.
The attendees of the final part of the conference – a technological session on Green Technology in the Russian Textile and Garment Industry – will be able to get information on how to recycle flame retardant fabrics, the importance of environmental friendliness in the textile and garment industry, as well as learn how to use the trend of ecology in order to promote their brand.
